Location: Home > News > ...the House Spouse Book Celebrates the ‘House Spouse’Hastings Mayor Laurence Yule will launch a book by Hastings author Diana Henderson on the opening morning of the Hawks Bay Show. The book, “Earn $50,000 per year as a House Spouse” aims to raise the status of stay-at-home parents, and took Diana seven years to write. The book explains how to be thousands of dollars better off by working smarter not harder. Among other things it details how much money can be earned and saved by working at home. “Too many families struggle with both partners working in the mistaken belief that that is the best way for them to get ahead financially, when often they will actually be worse off by doing so” says Diana, herself a housewife and mother of three girls. The book teaches people how to maximise savings, reduce costs, cut out the middle man, validate themselves and feel proud to be a house spouse. Hastings' Mayor Laurence Yule will launch the book and cut the ribbon at 9am next Thursday at stand 115 of the Hawke's Bay Show exhibition hall. In August Mrs. Henderson had a small number of books printed to test the market. This launch marks the full publication. The book's cover price is $35. Autographed copies will be available, along with the opportunity to chat with the author. Hawke’s Bay Today –19 October 2002. |
